I can’t match up to Indian TV actors: Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan might be the latest heartthrob in India, and one of the most popular faces in Pakistani television, but the actor feels that when it comes to the working capacity of Indian TV actors, he’s no match to them. That’s the reason, even though he has been the face of cult tele-dramas in Pakistan, including Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, he doesn’t see himself acting in Indian soaps, ever.
“I don’t consider myself so popular an actor in comparison to the Indian TV actors. I think it requires tremendous amount of talent to do the kind of work they are doing, which I think I don’t possess,”
says the 32-year-old, who made his Bollywood debut this year with Khubsoorat. “It requires so much stamina to act in daily soaps, and I admire all those actors for that… but if you ask me… no, probably that’s not for me,” says Khan.
Considering his meteoric rise in the subcontinent, does he regret not coming here earlier? “No, I don’t have that kind of regret,” he says. “Had I come to India earlier there would have been no work to show them. It’s purely coincidental that people here got a chance to see my work around the time when my film releases, and it’s very endearing… I really enjoy the attention I am getting. It has just happened at the right time,” says the Lahore-based actor.
