Lata Mangeshkar Praised Pakistani Rickshaw Driver Singer
We have seen that Pakistani’s are not short of talent and most of the times they excel in what they do. We have seen many viral videos over the internet of Pakistanis singing songs that are absolutely brilliant.
Lata Mangeshkar is among the legends in India who is appreciated in Pakistan as well. She recently shared a video of a Pakistani rickshaw driver who was singing a few of Ghulam Ali’s songs.
Master Aslam was singing the song in Karachi while sitting in his rickshaw and the video went viral. People were surprised to see the talent he possess.
Lata Mangeshkar shared this talented Pakistani rickshaw driver’s video with her fans on her facebook page . The legendary singer expressed her feelings by saying that she wanted the singer to be in front of a mic rather than driving a rickshaw.
Master Aslam, a few from 1993 might remember, took part in a television singing competition program and was able to reach the final of the talent show.
He was even asked to sing for a film for which he went to Lahore. Unfortunately, he returned after he realizing the place was not rewarding enough.
He told Dawn.com
“I even worked at PTV with Qamar Allahditta sahib. Then something terrible happened. I fell ill and it took me two-and-a-half years to recover. During that period, I had to spend whatever I had on me. In my entire life I have never sought help from anyone except Allah. This is why, to make ends meet, I decided to drive a rickshaw. I felt no shame in it. It’s been a little more than a couple of years since I’ve been in this profession,”
Receiving recognition and mention by Lata Mangeshkar, Aslam’s happiness knows no bounds.
“When I heard about it, it brought tears to my eyes. I can’t thank her enough. She is such a legendary artist, a devi in the realm of singing, and I’m just an amateur. I’m not even a speck of dust in front of her. And to know that she liked my singing…” he was quoted as saying.
