Mawra Hocane debuting in Bollywood with South Indian actor Harshvardhan Rane
Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane, who became an overnight sensation in India when Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor sent her a friendly video message via Instagram, is ready to step into Bollywood with Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao’s movie ‘Sanam Teri Kasam.’
For a long time Mawra’s fans have been speculating that Mawra will be debuting with Ranbir Kapoor but Mawra, who is 22, is paired opposite south actor Harshvardhan Rane in the movie. The cast and crew were in Cape Town last week shooting for the film.
Latest buzz is that more than half of the film shoot has been completed. While it is not quite clear whether ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ is a remake of the 1982 hit starring Kamal Haasan and Reena Roy, Mawra in her limited media interactions has termed her debut movie as ‘a beautiful love story comparing it with Aashiqui 2.’
Mawra, who is immensely popular in Pakistan, recently found herself at the receiving end of an unwanted controversy when her tweets protesting the banning of Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Phantom’ in Pakistan drew the ire of senior Pakistani actor, Shaan.
Mawra’s explaination on her tweets in her open letter garnered her a lot of applause from all quarters.
Meanwhile, Vinay Sapru appeared reluctant when Indian Express team rang him for a confirmation. When asked about the status of the shoot, Vinay said:
“It’s going fine. But everything is in a state of flux. It’s too early to talk about Sanam Teri Kasam.” Vinay Sapru
Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru had earlier helmed Salman Khan’s Lucky: No time for love.
