PTA finally lifts ban on YouTube in Pakistan
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Spokesman revealed that the famous video sharing website Youtube was finally unbanned after three years. Information Ministry along with PTA have framed a program that has finally led to the occasion.
PTA filed a petition in Supreme Court for lifting the ban on the site which had been placed after offensive videos were released on it. The Pakistani version as explained to the court prohibited the release of such content and meant that the ban was no longer necessary.
Furthermore the petition to Supreme Court said that blasphemous content would be removed to make it more friendly for users in Pakistan. These all resulted in the petition claiming that the user friendly site for Muslims with the local version would prohibit any material to hurt sentiments.
