Saifeena started off their wedding festivities with a private bash on sunday at their new Bandra pad

For the longest time, the high-profile couple has kept the media and everyone else guessing as to when, if at all they do, will they tie the knot? However, the countdown to Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s wedding has begun.

And contrary to reports of a sangeet ceremony, the celebrations were flagged off with a rather private pre-wedding party at Saifeena’s new pad in Satguru Sharan at Bandra on Sunday, October 14.

The terrace was covered to prevent the media from getting a sneak peek. The bash was kept exclusive with just a few close friends and family invited.

While most of the elders of the Kapoor clan were conspicuous by their absence, Babita and Neetu came specially to bless the couple although they didn’t attend the party.

Spotted among the youngsters were Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora Ladak to name a few. Also present were Saif’s daughter Sara and both his sisters, his friends from the UK.

The party that started around 10pm, went on till about 6am on Monday. Reportedly, Saif and Kareena’s marriage will take place today, and will be a quiet affair with only immediate family members from both sides present.

It is learnt Registrar at the Bandra Family Court Surekha Lohkare will register the couple’s marriage at their Bandra pad. Saif will send his car to the court between 11.30am and 12pm to ferry Lohkare to their place.

If sources are to be believed, the sangeet ceremony will take place at a Sobo five star today evening. A grand reception has been planned for tomorrow, after which Saifeena will fly down to Pataudi for the Daawat-e-Walima, the traditional day-after wedding reception, to be held on Oct 18.
