Shaan Should Work In Bollywood Movies – Humaima Malik

Pakistani starlet Humaima Malik made her Bollywood debut earlier this year opposite Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi in ‘Raja Natwarlal’.

The actor, who rose to fame after her performance in Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol, gave a bold performance in her first Bollywood debut with Emraan Hashmi in Raja Natwarlal which attracted both criticism and praise from her Pakistani and Indian fans.

Unfortunately the film failed to make a mark on the big screen, but Humaima Malik is very happy and grateful for all the love, respect and appreciation she has received from the Bollywood Industry and her Indian fans through out her journey in Bollywood.

After Raja Natwarlal, Humaima calls India her “second home” and has signed up for three more films in Bollywood.

Talking to a leading daily, Humaima told the media about her experience of working in India and the difference between the audience reception in Pakistan and India.

They love their artists, they respect them so much. Their celebrities are more famous than their politicians. If you go to Bombay, you’ll see so many people waiting outside Mannat (Shahrukh Khan’s house) or Jalsa (Amitabh Bachchan’s house) just to catch a glimpse of them. This is what we call stardom. People there respect and acknowledge art a lot.

Unfortunately, our nation has more pressing concerns such as immense poverty and security issues due to which entertainment takes a backseat. said Humaima

The performer, is also very famous for her on point fashion choices and stays in news a lot for her bold style. When asked a question about her acceptance in Indian film industry, Humaima laughed and replied:

‘I don’t want to be accepted anywhere [laughs]. I will go wherever my talent and my art will take me and continue to work without thinking about gaining acceptance.’

When asked who is the one person from Pakistan who should work across the border, but hasn’t so far and why? Humaima said:

From the Pakistani industry, I’d say Shaan should work in Bollywood. Whereas from India, I want Salman Khan to work in Pakistan. He’s the biggest star in India and he has a huge fan following.

Hmmm… As we all are aware about Shaan’s views on Pakistani artists working across the border, it will be interesting to know what Shaan thinks about her suggestion!
