England vs Australia 5th ODI Live Scorecard and Commentary – 16th Sept 2013

Many of the fans will be disappointed that two of the matches have been abandoned in this ODI series between England and Australia but will be excited that the series will be decided by the final match of the tour. Australia will be eying to win this last match so they don’t go home empty-handed but will need to bat very well, especially Shane Watson who has been fairly quiet. Body Rankin has been very good against Australia in the two opportunities he has received and will be a key player for England to ensure the top order of Australia doesn’t score runs.

England are alive and kicking in the nick of time following a three-wicket win in Cardiff. It was a thrilling success achieved in the last over thanks to the cool hand of Jos Buttler. Buttler struck 65 from 48 balls to blast England home when they appeared to be sliding to a series loss. There were other good performances. Michael Carberry repaid the faith shown by the management team with 63 while Steven Finn and Boyd Rankin were tight and tricky with the new ball. There is concern over the form of Joe Root and Jonathan Trott. Ducks from both were extremely harmful to England’s chances. One of them may as well be dropped for Luke Wright who could hardly do any worse. Otherwise it would be a surprise if either Chris Jordan or Jamie Overton were handed a debut in such an important contest.
