Sri Lanka vs West Indies Highlights Final T20 World Cup 7th Oct 2012.
October 8, 2012
West Indies were crowned the T20 champions after beating Sri Lanka by 36 runs in the final of ICC World T20 at the R Premadasa Stadium. Marlon Samuels hit a 56-ball 78 and took Windies score to 137 for six wickets in 20 overs. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 101 runs in 18.4 overs.
It happens only every 2 years which can seem like an age for some teams and will feel even longer for the team who loses this final. Sri Lanka and the West Indies will play each other for the T20 World Champions Title and the support in the stands will no doubt be a lot of the Sri Lankans. The last time these two teams met was in the Super Eights the West Indies were smashed as Mahela Jaywardene was on target. Chris Gayle will be key for the West Indian side as he displayed in the Semi-final against Australia he can play a mature innings and accelerate when required. Lasith Malinga looks on and off at times during the tournament but Sri Lanka really need him to be switched on for this massive game.
