Showing off his romantic side, he is said to have gone down on one knee to propose to her.
Shaniera Thompson is a former public relations consultant based in Melbourne. She has already converted to Islam and is reportedly willing to move and settle in Pakistan.
“Yes, I will marry next year and I’ve known Shaniera for the last one-and-a-half years and she has converted to Islam,” Wasim said.
“I feel lucky that I have got a second chance in life.”
Wasim’s wife Huma died of a heart attack in 2009, and he has many well-wishers backing this decision.
