England and New Zealand are yet again to face each in a decider. England have been playing against New Zealand from past few months and both teams know what they are capable of. Its a must win game for England while for New Zealand they still have an outside chance even if they loose the game to England. So far in the tournament England batting has been their strong point but bowling hasn’t been that impressive. England bowling attack is the second strongest in the tournament after Pakistan but were not able to defend a score 293 runs against Sri Lanka in last match.

England have been considered as favorites for the tournament but so far they have mixed result. With a virtual quarter final in front if them England will be under pressure to perform against Kiwis. England recently lost the ODI series to New Zealand at home but they just can’t let that repeat again. So far the Group A has been wide open as all the four teams — New Zealand (3 points), England (2), Sri Lanka (2) and Australia (1) are in the reckoning for the two semifinal spots from the group.

England top order has batted well so far with Alastair Cook, Ian Bell, Jonathan Trott, young Joe Root and Ravi Bopara all are among runs and it won’t be surprise to see the hosts piling up yet another big score in conditions which are familiar to them. England will be looking for revenge when they take on New Zealand as well. The bowling so far hasn’t been that impressive with England being the home team knowing the conditions well enough.

New Zealand on the other hand, are in a bit better position than England. If New Zealand loses the match they still have an outside chance provided results of the last Group A match between Australia and Sri Lanka go in their favour. New Zealand are well adjusted to England conditions but their batting that clicked earlier is now a point of concern for them. Martin Guptill was the key in New Zealand win over England in ODI series but so far he hasn’t been able to score much. Ross Taylor, Brendon McCullum too are not looking in form as well. On the bowling front, left-arm medium pacer Mitchell McClenaghan, pace spearhead Kyle Mills and part-time spinner Nathan McCullum are doing a wonderful job for the Kiwis.
