It’s the last match of Group B which is almost a dead rubber with India’s semi finals secured and Pakistan preparing for their trip home. It has been a poor tournament from Pakistan who were regarded as one of the surprises to win this tournament but have under performed. India will want to make sure they get 1st place in the group and will hope to rely on Shikhar Dhawan once more after yet another brilliant performance with the bat for India. The batting has really let down the good bowling from Pakistan and one man who will be disappointed with his contributions this tournament would be Mohammad Hafeez who will want to leave this tournament on a high.

Shikhar Dhawan just loves scoring hundreds for India, it’s his third consecutive hundred for India in international cricket and it is helping India gain confidence and look like a real force in this tournament. Many had doubts over how India would perform without Gambhir and Sehwag opening the batting but Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are relishing the spot given to them. Dhawan will be key once again and will look to attack from the go against the Pakistan bowlers who can be way wards at times. India will most likely go with the same team as they want to top the group although they could rotate a few players but then again they want their players to continue their good form.

Mohammad Hafeez was expected to be a major contributor for Pakistan over this tournament and guide them through to the semi-finals but that hasn’t been the case for the experienced all-rounder. His major role in the team is to score runs but 4 off 9 and 7 off 21 will disappoint him and many Pakistan fans. Pakistan may have nothing to win but Hafeez needs to prove a point as he is a highly skilled batsman but hasn’t been able to display that over this tournament. Umar Amin replaced the out of form Asad Shafiq in the last fixture but all Pakistan’s batsmen except Jamshed and Misbah failed to make double figures so he could be brought back into the team. The bowling has looked pretty good apart from the quick’s going for runs.
