India have proved themselves so far in the tournament winning every match while Sri Lanka have consistently entered finals of various major ICC events over the past few years. The two sides have known each quite well so they pretty much know each other strategies. In champions trophy the two teams have met only once, the final of 2002 tournament which was washed off by rain and the two were named the joint winners. Today when the two teams meet rain can again be a deciding factor. According to weather forecast there will be overcast conditions at Cardiff and rain might play a spoil sport. If that happens and the game gets washed out it will India who will reach final because of the unbeaten record in the tournament so far.
