Pakistan vs West Indies 4rth ODI Live – 2013

The two sides fought out a thrilling tie in St Lucia on Friday to leave this series very much alive and Sunday’s fourth game is increasingly hard to call. Both teams have their issues, with Gayle and Pollard horribly out of form for the Windies while Pakistan are struggling at the top of the order. Ahmed Shehzad has been given another chance at opening the batting for Pakistan but has been very poor putting his team under pressure early on. As far as picking a winner is concerned, the Windies look to be in better overall shape and it’s hard to see Chris Gayle staying with this run of low scores for too long. The big Jamaican could be the difference between the two teams on Sunday so we’re tipping a win for the hosts.

West Indies have managed only two fifties so far in three matches, which shows how choppy the batting has been. Of huge concern is the wretched form of allrounder Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle. From Pakistan’s perspective, the fact that five of their batsmen have managed to score half-centuries but the team total has not crossed 229 is a worry. Misbah, the leading run-getter in 2013, has called on his batsmen to make bigger contributions. He has two half-centuries in the series and will need the likes of Mohammad Hafeez, Nasir Jamshed and Umar Akmal to chip in.

Slow and difficult pitches have led to low scores in this series so far but that could change on Sunday and if you think anyone will pass three figures then that could play a big part in the result of this match. This has turned into one of the most unpredictable ODI series in recent months and Sunday’s result is so tough to call but we’re backing a Gayle-inspired West Indies to take the win and a narrow lead ahead of the final match.
